Match report
First game of the season. Started off nicely with 'Goat-Nav' taking over the widely respected satellite version that made the skipper late.
Anyway, when he crawled his way through the park, he managed to win the toss and we batted. Dog and Jor went out and both were bowled, Dog perhaps a little more unfortunate than Jor. Rorn and Stylo in and and the eyes started to light up at the change bowling. Stylo predictably spawny getting dropped on 1, a catch where you'd actually back Goat to take it (well, maybe not). The standard unspawny Rorn got bowled off the pads and Noah departed soon after, not wanting to walk despite getting caught at point. Gas and Stylo together is a fine sight, completely blocking the sun and the other surroundings. Gas looked all right then looked knackered after about 5 minutes. Bainsey came in, matching boundaries for dropped catches - they would drop 8 in the end which cost them quite severely. Bainesy ended up with 37 and Stylo with a fine ton in the end with 115. NC was Dog's first trigger victim, clearly unhappy saying it was too high, missing leg and he hit it. Raj made a beeline for the Dales by just ignoring the ball and walking out of the crease, leaving the studless Goat stranded. 273 all out, decent score.
In response, they were never getting near it. Fish and Raj both struggled for a bit of consistency but got the breakthroughs. With the strength of change bowling to come, early finish had potential. Noah came on and bowled a few Js taking 2 in 2 and Goat got a customary hiding but nicked 2. The underused NC popped on to clear up at the end, 96 all out and a heavy, max point win to start.
Goat's nib for Dog's fielding brought him in to contention for the Dales but Fish hacked up in the end, feeling good before it, so probably even better after.
