Broomfield Cricket Club Won by 166 runs
Match report
Hot day at a game with no facilities, toss was vital and Gas purred. Gas and Dog opened up but Gas went full Dog and chipped a long hop to cover in the 2nd over. Rorn and Dog then put on a century stand until the former holed out at long leg again for 49. Dog kept going and with Stylo fresh from a chun, pony and a sip of Roni as the bar opened at 2.30, he dealt mainly in Bs until he also holed out at deep mid wicket for 26. Noah popped in and then out again, blaming the bounce on advice from Dog. Bainesy back to full form continued to maximise the Bulbalina to milk it to all parts ending with a quick 50*. The less about Fish's innings the better. With a fresh hoop, bigger things could've been expected but it was just abysmal, taking 17 balls to get it off the square. Dog ended just shy of his ton making a fine 95. We ended with 291/6, debatable after NC spent most of the day telling the oppo scorer the individual totals were wrong but at least he was having fun. Looked a good score.
With a raft of Dale candidates, it was going to be interesting. Fish decided to bowl properly and short for once which the oppo didn't take to. He and Raj started us off well with 1 each in their spells. Noah came in to the attack with NC. Noah with a foot in the Dales needed some redemption and got it to swing, a decent 3 wicket spell before age took him off. NC started with a dropped C&B first ball, not a great start for the leading wicket taker. He would redeem himself with a couple though. Finally Goat would finish them off. With the flag hoisting throughout the day, the chequered flag only took 3 balls with a J forcing the bat into a false shot. He utterly mopped, again, absolute joke form with another 3 in the bag. We rolled them over for 125 and left us plenty of time to toast the flag performance.
Gas was banged to rights for the Dales as all the other candidates took their chance to undale themselves.
