Match report One of those weeks we'd all rather forget. A long trip out the back of Southend, with only 10 men and I lost the toss so we had to bat on a damp wicket against the new ball. Cue a trademark rearguard action from Deadbat Gibbo, his score of 27 more than double what everyone else could muster.
There was perhaps a sniff of an unlikely win, but the skipper uncharacteristically fumbled a catching opportunity (my first drop in the League since july 2005!) and Ekco (again over-strength as their 2nd team were in Div 4 and did not have a match due to teams dropping out!) finished with 36 overs to spare (as they got 8 overs carried over after getting us all out).
