Broomfield Cricket Club Lost By 4 Wickets

Match report Getting put in looked a very odd choice on a hot day but it proved to be a good move. The track we all looked forward to batting on was probably the worst of the season. Having said that, it was the 2nd horror show in as many weeks from the majority of the top order. Only Dog and Rich managed worthwhile contributions with half centuries. Rob fell somewhat short of his pre-match prediction with a duck which earned him a 2nd Dales of the season. We ended up with 168 which looked a decent total to defend.

Sadly, the first 6 overs got spanked by Norman and we could never quite recover. It was really quite an uneventful innings to comment on apart from that but the result never looked in danger whilst Cook steered OCs to the victory. Any title or promotion went down the toilet and we can only blame ourselves as we've cost ourselves by not getting enough runs in these 2 matches. Only pride to play for next week but it's important that we try and end on a high.
