Great Burstead II v Broomfield Cricket Club 2nd XI on Sat 24 May 2008 at
Broomfield Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

Match report A match remembered for the lighting start by Burstead's Caribbean opener, hitting Anand for 3 sixes in one over and raising his bat after the second to invite applause for his 50 but his fellow players disagreed with his counting, but did applaud him reaching the milestone after the next maximum.
Farrow broke through his defences, another important wicket to add to his growing collection, but the brakes were not fully applied by the broomfield attack as Burstead managed 232.
After an excellent 109 run opening stand, the skipper hit his first boundary of the season - an agricultural thwack for six over square leg - and the runs kept ticking over, punishing any loose bowling and hesitant fielding.
Although we had wickets in hand and they only had one dangerous bowler, a typical Broomfield collapse was always just around the corner, giving another nail biting finish, but Woodger hit the winning boundary with 9 balls to spare.
